About Justin James McShane
Attorney Justin James McShane is a highly respected trial attorney in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, known for his expertise in forensic science to defend those accused of crimes. He is nationally recognized for his litigation skills and deep knowledge across all forensic science disciplines. Attorney McShane was the first in the United States to earn the American Chemical Society-Chemistry and the Law Division (ACS-CHAL) designation as a Forensic Lawyer Scientist.
He holds Board Certification in DUI Defense Law from the National College for DUI Defense (NCDD), being the first and only lawyer in Pennsylvania to achieve this, and the youngest in the United States. Additionally, he is certified as a Criminal Trial Advocate by the National Board of Trial Advocacy, a Pennsylvania Supreme Court Approved Agency. He also pioneered certification in Forensic Sobriety Assessment as the first attorney in the country.
Attorney McShane is an active member of the legal community, serving as a Sustaining Member and previously as the State Delegate National Coordinator with the NCDD. His contributions have been recognized with the 2012 NCDD Dean’s Award and the 2012 Pennsylvania Association for Drunk Driving Defense Attorneys (PADDDA) Outstanding Achievement Award.
He is a charter member of the DUI Defense Lawyers Association (DUIDLA) and served as the Founding Treasurer of the Board of Trustees for the DUI Defense Lawyers Association Justice Foundation (DUIDLAJF). From 2014 to 2019, he was part of the faculty at the Indiana University Center for Studies of Law in Action Borkenstein Drug Course.
