Mary Jo B Gilsdorf

Mary Jo Gilsdorf has been a prominent figure in the field of Arbitration, Mediation, and Construction Law since 2014. She has acted as an Arbitrator in over 200 cases and as a Mediator in more than 180 cases, primarily focusing on construction law disputes. Her practical and pragmatic approach is rooted in over 15 years of hands-on experience in the construction industry.

Before establishing her ADR practice, Mary Jo was deeply involved in the construction industry starting in 1997. She worked on diverse projects, including commercial buildings, hospitals, hotels, offices, residential buildings, sports complexes, and more, with values ranging from $100K to $300MM. Her career began at a small construction firm where she served as a contract administrator and assistant project manager, among other roles.

Mary Jo's expertise expanded as she became a cost engineer, where she analyzed change order requests from subcontractors to resolve claims. Her career progressed further when she assumed the role of sole in-house counsel for a major regional construction management firm in the Philadelphia area.
