Gregory H. Mathews

Gregory H. Mathews is a distinguished lawyer based in Downingtown, Pennsylvania, with extensive expertise in complex commercial litigation and corporate counseling. His career began with a notable four-year tenure as Special Counsel to the Office of Disclosure Policy at the Securities and Exchange Commission in Washington, D.C. During this time, he played a pivotal role in the Commission’s Corporate Governance Project, co-authoring the influential Staff Report on Corporate Accountability for the U.S. Senate in 1980.

Following his service at the SEC, Greg transitioned to private practice, where he led the securities law practice at a leading Philadelphia law firm. He adeptly handled a wide range of securities matters, including public and private securities offerings, Securities Exchange Act reporting, and compliance counseling for investment advisers. Greg also provided defense for corporate officers and directors in securities litigation and SEC investigations.

From 1994 to 2004, Greg served as Senior Vice President and Assistant General Counsel at Wachovia Corporation and its predecessor bank holding companies.
