About Timothy James Prendergast
Timothy J. Prendergast, Esquire, hails from a family deeply rooted in the legal and political landscape of Northampton County. As one of seven children of Anne and the Honorable James F. Prendergast, Esquire, a long-serving Democratic State Representative and member of the Northampton County Bar Association, Tim was inspired to pursue a career in law.
Before embarking on his legal journey, Tim gained valuable experience as a Restaurant Manager and Chef. While attending the Dickinson School of Law, he demonstrated his dedication to justice by founding the Penn State Criminal Justice Project, part of the Innocence Project Network. This initiative aimed to exonerate wrongfully convicted individuals using DNA evidence. Tim also developed an academic curriculum allowing students to earn credits through work on exoneration cases.
Born and residing in Easton, Pennsylvania, Tim was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar and the U.S. District Court, Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania in 2003. After graduating from Dickinson School of Law, he joined Asteak Law Offices, where he worked until 2007. In April 2007, Tim established The Law Office of Timothy J. Prendergast, Esquire, and has since been committed to expanding his practice to better serve his diverse clientele.
In August 2007, Tim joined the Northampton County Public Defender’s Office as an Associate Public Defender, zealously representing indigent clients. His practice spans multiple counties across the Commonwealth, including Bucks, Berks, Lehigh, Northampton, Monroe, Montgomery, Carbon, Schuylkill, Lancaster, Lebanon, Dauphin, Cumberland, Luzerne, Lackawanna, and Montour.
