Jonathan Edmond Bennett Lewis

Jonathan Edmond Bennett Lewis is a committed defense attorney based in Beaufort, South Carolina. He began his academic journey at Norwich University, the Military College of Vermont, earning a Bachelor's Degree in 2011. Shortly after graduation, he was stationed on the Iraqi border with the Department of Defense, providing critical medical support during Operation: NEW DAWN. His service extended over ten years, covering various roles in critical care and fire/rescue.

Returning to Norwich University, Jonathan completed his Masters Degree in International Affairs in 2015, focusing on Violent Extremism and Terrorism. He then pursued a legal career, attending the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he graduated in Spring 2018. During law school, Jonathan was elected to the Honor Council for three consecutive years and was an active participant in both the Mock Trial and Moot Court Bars. Notably, he competed before the South Carolina Court of Appeals and the South Carolina Supreme Court.

Jonathan has a comprehensive background in criminal law, having served as a Special Assistant Solicitor in the Fifth Judicial Circuit. In this role, he prosecuted Drug Crimes and Violent Crimes and was the DUI Prosecutor for Lexington County. Now, as a defense attorney, he leverages his prosecutorial experience to passionately and ethically represent his clients.

Jonathan Lewis is admitted to practice in all South Carolina State Courts and Tribunals and the Federal District Court for the District of South Carolina. His admission to the Tennessee Bar is currently pending.
