Justin J. Arenas

Justin J. Arenas, originally from San Juan, Puerto Rico, brings a wealth of experience to his legal practice in Berkeley County, South Carolina. Fluent in Spanish, he pursued his undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Following his graduation, Justin relocated to Charleston, South Carolina, where he contributed to the S.C. Department of Health and Human Services before attending the Charleston School of Law.

During his law studies, Justin gained valuable experience at Richardson, Patrick, Westbrook & Brickman, handling natural resource damages (NRD) cases. He played a key role in representing the State of New Jersey, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands in asserting NRD claims.

After earning his law degree, Justin joined the Law Offices of John K. Dema, P.C. (LOJKD), taking on the role of Special Counsel for the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico in cases involving groundwater contamination by methyl tertiary-butyl ether (MTBE). He also served as Special Counsel for the State of New Jersey in NRD lawsuits concerning per- and polyfluoroalkyl (PFAS) contamination.

In addition to his work with LOJKD, Justin maintained a private practice in Charleston, South Carolina, where he handled personal injury and criminal defense cases in both federal and state courts. His commitment to justice is further demonstrated by his pro bono work with the South Carolina Appleseed Legal Justice Center, where he volunteered on immigration matters.
