Lara Nicole Browne

Lara N. Browne is an accomplished attorney at the Steinberg Law Firm, focusing her practice on workers’ compensation law. With over a decade of experience in South Carolina, she effectively represents injured workers, drawing on her extensive background in defense-side legal work.

Prior to joining the firm, Lara served as Legal Counsel for a large self-insured healthcare organization in the Lowcountry, where she managed a comprehensive workers’ compensation program for more than 6,000 employees. Her career began in defense, representing employers, insurance carriers, and third-party administrators at a major defense firm. This experience provided her with a strategic perspective that she now uses to advocate for injured workers.

Lara's transition from defense to representing injured workers was driven by her commitment to advocating for clients' rights and reducing their stress during challenging times. She holds degrees from Penn State and the Temple University Beasley School of Law. During her law school years, she volunteered with the Pennsylvania Innocence Project, honing her investigative skills.

Before embarking on her legal career, Lara worked in substance abuse counseling, recruitment, and staffing, where she developed strong negotiation and communication skills. Her dedication to service is evident in her volunteer work at a nursing home, hospital, psychological services hotline, and the Red Cross.

Originally from Pennsylvania, Lara relocated to South Carolina in 2013 with her husband, Chris. They reside in Mount Pleasant with their three children. In her leisure time, she enjoys Penn State sports, fantasy football, strength training, traveling, and discovering new dining experiences.
