Joshua Preston Stokes

Joshua P. Stokes is a committed attorney serving clients in Charleston and the broader Lowcountry region of South Carolina. A graduate of Presbyterian College with a Bachelor of Science in Physics and a minor in Computer Science, he earned his Juris Doctor from the Charleston School of Law in 2007. Admitted to the South Carolina Bar the same year, Mr. Stokes began his legal career at the Law Offices of Paul E. Tinkler in downtown Charleston.

In 2010, Mr. Stokes established the Law Office of Joshua P. Stokes, LLC. The following year, he partnered with Peter M. McCoy, Jr. to form McCoy & Stokes, LLC. After Mr. McCoy's appointment as U.S. Attorney for South Carolina, Mr. Stokes founded Stokes Legal, LLC, continuing to serve clients throughout the Lowcountry from his base on James Island.

Mr. Stokes is admitted to practice in all state courts of South Carolina and the United States District Court for the District of South Carolina. His extensive legal practice spans municipal courts, circuit courts, and the South Carolina Court of Appeals.

Active in the legal community, Mr. Stokes is a member of the American Bar Association, South Carolina Bar Association, and Charleston County Bar Association. Originally from Anderson, South Carolina, he has resided in Charleston since 2004, where he lives with his wife, Robyn, and their five children.
