Sam Clawson, Jr.

Sam Clawson, Jr. is a seasoned attorney based in Charleston, South Carolina. He completed his early education at Porter Gaud School before earning a Bachelor of Arts in history, with a minor in political science, from the University of South Carolina. Continuing his education there, he achieved a Juris Doctorate and was honored with the CALI award for academic excellence in Products Liability.

Following law school, Sam expanded his expertise in New York City at New York Maritime College, where he graduated with honors, obtaining a Master of Science in International Transportation Management and a Merchant Marine deck officer’s license. He has practical maritime experience, having sailed as a deck officer for Maersk on unlimited tonnage vessels. His credentials include United States Coast Guard licenses as a Second Mate Any Gross Tons Oceans and as a Master Not More Than One Hundred Tons Near Coastal.

Sam's teaching experience includes serving as an Adjunct Professor in the Naval Science Department at The Citadel, where he instructed senior Naval ROTC cadets in terrestrial navigation and nautical Rules of the Road. Licensed since 2008, Sam initially practiced at Clawson & Staubes, LLC, gaining valuable insight into insurance defense.

In 2017, Sam co-founded Clawson Fargnoli, LLC, where he now exclusively represents plaintiffs in personal injury cases. His practice areas include serious bodily injury or death from boating and personal watercraft accidents, dram shop/liquor liability incidents, daycare facility abuse and neglect, prescription errors, major trip and falls, motor vehicle accidents, and wrongful death claims.
