Ina Shtukar

Originally from Belarus, Ina Shtukar immigrated to the United States after her father, a distinguished mathematician, was granted political asylum, settling in North Carolina. She excelled academically, earning a BS in Psychology from the European Humanitarian University, where she graduated with highest honors. Despite the university's closure by the government shortly after her graduation, Ina continued her education, achieving a Master’s Degree in Psychology as valedictorian and receiving a full scholarship offer for a PhD program. However, her passion for law led her to pursue a Juris Doctor at NCCU School of Law, where she graduated summa cum laude in the top 1% of her class.

During her law studies, Ina gained practical experience through externships and internships with reputable firms and local government. She also earned a Certificate of Achievement from the NC Bar for dedicating over 500 hours to pro bono work. Her commitment to community service extends to her involvement with several nonprofit organizations, providing legal assistance to those in need.

Ina's legal practice is deeply influenced by her personal history, particularly in asylum cases, reflecting her connection to her homeland's political climate. Her practice areas include immigration and removal defense, as well as workers' compensation, social security, employment, and civil rights law. She is admitted to practice in both North Carolina and South Carolina, as well as the federal district court in the Western District of NC.
