About Jake Modla

Jake Modla has dedicated his legal career to labor and employment law, practicing in North and South Carolina since 1990. He began at Haynsworth Baldwin Johnson and Greaves and Ogletree Deakins, where he represented employers in discrimination, wage and hour, and civil rights cases. In 2004, Jake transitioned to Family Dollar Stores, serving as Vice President, Deputy General Counsel, and later as Vice President of HR Operations. He then joined Littler Mendelson, the world's largest labor and employment law firm, defending employers in federal litigation and advising on compliance, labor relations, and workplace claims.

In 2016, Jake founded his own firm, focusing on representing employees and workers facing retaliation, discrimination, harassment, and wage theft. He later joined the Law Offices of Jason E. Taylor and currently brings his extensive expertise to Cromer Babb and Porter. Additionally, Jake represents law enforcement officers in certification and misconduct matters involving the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy and Law Enforcement Training Council.

Proud of his working-class Eastern European heritage, Jake is actively involved in his church and is the father of three daughters. With his deep experience on both sides of employment disputes, he is committed to advocating for employees throughout North and South Carolina.
