Carolyn Marie Bone

Carolyn Marie Bone is a family law attorney based in Dorchester County, South Carolina, known for her commitment to advocating for children and families. A native of Summerville, she earned her J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law and gained admission to the South Carolina Bar in 2008. Her academic journey began with a B.A., summa cum laude, from Converse College, where she majored in English and Psychology.

Ms. Bone has played an active role in the legal community, serving as President of the Dorchester County Bar Association in 2018, and holding positions as Chair of the Continuing Legal Education Committee in 2015, and Secretary in 2016 and 2017. She is also a member of the Charleston County Bar Association and the Family Court Section of the South Carolina Bar.

Her contributions extend to the Dorchester County Family Court Liaison Committee, where she served from 2018 to 2021 to facilitate communication between Family Court judges and practitioners. In 2018, she was elected as a General Council Member of the South Carolina Bar Family Law Section, participating in legislative monitoring, educational seminars, and publication efforts for Family Court attorneys.

In 2015, Ms. Bone completed the American Bar Association/National Institute for Trial Advocacy Family Law Program in Boulder, Colorado, enhancing her trial skills in contested divorce proceedings. She became a certified Family Court Mediator in 2017 and has been a mediator at the Mediation and Meeting Center of Charleston since 2018, serving on its board in 2019.
