Steve Wayne Sumner

Steve Wayne Sumner graduated from the USC School of Law in 1992, earning recognition in the "Order of the Wig and Robe" for his academic excellence. During his time at USC, he was also part of the Mock Trial Competition team, which advanced to the Southeastern regional of the national competition.

Steve began his legal career as a state court prosecutor from 1992 to 1994, where he focused on prosecuting cases involving DUI, Felony DUI, Reckless Homicide, and Traffic offenses.

In 1995, Steve established his own practice, specializing in criminal defense. His practice is particularly concentrated on defending clients accused of DUI, Felony DUI, driving offenses, and drug-related cases.

Steve represents clients across more than 25 courts in Upstate South Carolina. His practice spans the counties of Greenville, Anderson, Spartanburg, Pickens, and Laurens, as well as the city and municipal courts of Greenville, Anderson, Spartanburg, Simpsonville, Mauldin, Greer, Fountain Inn, Easley, Clemson, Central, and Laurens.
