About Edward Love
Edward A. Love was born in Charleston, South Carolina, on March 3, 1978, and grew up in Florence, where he completed his education at South Florence High School. He attended The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice in 2000. During his time there, he was a member of the 2000 Summerall Guards and served as President of the Rugby Club.
Edward continued his education at the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University, receiving his Juris Doctor in 2003. At Mercer, he was actively involved with the Moot Court Board, both as a participant and coach, and he held the position of Chief Justice of the Honor Court.
After law school, Edward began his legal career with Almand & Wiggins in Macon, Georgia. He practiced in state and federal courts, including the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit, focusing on litigation across areas such as planning, zoning, land use, civil rights claims, contract disputes, construction bond disputes, personal injury, and criminal law.
In 2005, following the birth of his first son, Andrew, Edward returned to Florence to continue his legal practice. He is married to Ashley Canup Love, also from Florence, and they have three sons: Andrew (2004), Henry (2007), and Jacob (2009).
