Justin J. Arenas

Justin J. Arenas, born and raised in San Juan, Puerto Rico, is fluent in Spanish and offers a unique perspective in his legal practice. He pursued his undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies at The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Following graduation, he relocated to Charleston, South Carolina, where he worked with the S.C. Department of Health and Human Services before attending the Charleston School of Law.

During law school, Justin gained valuable experience at Richardson, Patrick, Westbrook & Brickman, focusing on natural resource damages (NRD) cases. He contributed to representing the State of New Jersey, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands in their NRD claims.

After earning his law degree, Justin joined the Law Offices of John K. Dema, P.C. ("LOJKD"), where he served as Special Counsel to the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico concerning groundwater contamination by methyl tertiary-butyl ether ("MTBE"). He also acted as Special Counsel for the State of New Jersey in NRD litigation involving per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances ("PFAS") contamination.

In addition to his work with LOJKD, Justin managed a private practice in Charleston, South Carolina, handling cases in personal injury and criminal defense across federal and state courts. His commitment to justice extends to volunteering with the South Carolina Appleseed Legal Justice Center on a pro bono basis, particularly in immigration matters.
