W. Coleman Lawrimore

W. Coleman Lawrimore, a native of Georgetown County's Pleasant Hill community, was raised on his family’s tobacco farm. As the son of a school administrator, his family moved frequently within South Carolina, living in Georgetown, Mt. Pleasant, Walhalla, and Newberry. Cole graduated from Newberry High School and attended Wofford College on an academic scholarship, where he was a Dean’s List student and served as Vice Chairman of the Honor Council. He earned a degree in accounting before pursuing his legal education at the Charleston School of Law, where he excelled on the Dean’s List and as a member of the Moot Court Board.

After law school, Cole secured a prestigious judicial clerkship with The Honorable J. Ernest Kinard, Jr. This experience provided him with invaluable insights into the justice system and solidified his interest in litigation. Cole began his legal career in Newberry, South Carolina, as a general litigation attorney, gaining trial experience in Circuit, Family, and Magistrates’ Courts.

Focusing on civil litigation, Cole joined a respected defense firm in Charleston, SC. There, he dedicated his practice to defending corporate insureds and government agencies, refining his skills in depositions, motions, and trial proceedings. Despite his success, Cole felt compelled to use his expertise to assist individuals, leading him to join The Derrick Law Firm. At the firm, he is committed to helping injured clients find peace and closure.
