About Gary Martin Frazier
Gary Martin Frazier, originally from Virginia, has been a resident of the Upstate region of South Carolina since 1989. He holds a Master’s degree in theology from Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia, PA. His early career included roles at Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary and as a youth pastor near Asheville, NC. In 1991, Gary pursued further graduate studies at Potchefstroom University in South Africa, where he completed a thesis on Sabbath observance. During his time there, he witnessed F. W. de Klerk's historic referendum that contributed to ending apartheid.
After returning to the United States, Gary worked as a private tutor in New England before enrolling in law school at the University of Mississippi. He earned his Juris Doctor degree in 1998. While at Ole Miss, he clerked for Judge Barry Ford in Tupelo, MS, and published an article on compulsive gambling and the ADA in the national Gaming Law Review. His initial experience in Family Law came during his third year of law school when he successfully prosecuted his own divorce case.
Following law school, Gary served as Managing Editor at a prominent independent book publisher in Columbus, MS. In 2000, he returned to the Upstate and worked in various roles, including freelance editing and hotel management. Since 2006, he has been licensed to practice law in South Carolina.
