Susan E. Williams

Growing up in the rural areas of South Carolina's midlands, Susan E. Williams developed a deep connection to her community, enjoying activities like fishing and swimming in the Edisto River. Her early years were marked by a strong focus on education, which led her to attend the University of South Carolina, proudly supporting the Gamecocks.

A pivotal moment in Susan's life occurred when she was carjacked at gunpoint shortly after starting college. This incident fueled her determination to pursue a career in Criminal Justice. She gained valuable experience through internships at the SC State House and Richland County Drug Court, completing her degree in just three and a half years with a 3.7 GPA.

Susan's work ethic was evident early on, holding various part-time jobs from babysitting to working at Hallmark stores. Her role as a courier at Tompkins and McMaster Law Firm in Columbia, South Carolina, further inspired her legal aspirations. Encouraged by influential mentors, she successfully entered law school, becoming the first lawyer in her family and the first female lawyer.

Susan's career is a testament to her belief that hard work leads to success. Her dedication to the legal profession, particularly in criminal justice, continues to drive her impact in Moncks Corner.
