Albert Glen Bilbrey Jr.

Albert Glen Bilbrey Jr. was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 2018 after serving as a law clerk for over two years. He brings extensive experience in litigation, focusing on areas such as maritime law, construction law, personal injury, and business law. His casework includes seamen and longshoremen injuries, wake injuries, wrongful death, vessel arrests, collisions, allisions, lightning strikes, and salvage operations. AJ also handles intermodal transportation, vessel purchase and sale contracts, maritime liens, seaman’s wages, preferred ship mortgages, charter party agreements, and USCG Suspension & Revocation proceedings. Additionally, he is skilled in insurance bad faith, construction defect litigation, HOA disputes, contract disputes, business formation, and contract drafting.

AJ is recognized by the South Carolina Supreme Court for his commitment to pro bono services for the state's citizens. He serves on the Board of Directors for Clap Your Hands, a nonprofit providing therapeutic products to special needs children across South Carolina. He is also an active member of the Southeastern Admiralty Law Institute (SEALI), holding the role of Charleston Port Director and participating in the Long Range Planning Committee.

Before his legal career, AJ worked in residential construction for over a decade. He then joined the U.S. Coast Guard, where he was awarded the Coast Guard Achievement Medal for excellence in search and rescue, law enforcement, and anti-terrorism missions. His dedication to service continues as he maintains a Captain’s license and contributes to the Charleston County Rescue Squad.
