Rob Corney

Rob Corney is a seasoned personal injury litigation attorney based at The Derrick Law Firm in North Charleston, South Carolina. His practice is committed to advocating for individuals who have endured severe injuries due to others' wrongful or negligent actions. Rob has a wealth of experience in handling complex civil cases, including tort and personal injury, premises liability, products liability, nursing home neglect and abuse, medical malpractice, as well as toxic and mass tort cases.

Raised in Mount Pleasant, Rob graduated from Wando High School, where he met his future wife. Being the fifth of eight children, he developed strong skills in resolving conflicts early on, which later inspired him to pursue a legal career. After earning his undergraduate degree from the University of South Carolina, Rob attended law school to fulfill his passion for helping others during challenging times.

Before joining The Derrick Law Firm, Rob was a Partner at a prominent insurance defense firm and served as an Assistant Attorney General for the South Carolina Attorney General’s Office.

Outside the courtroom, Rob enjoys spending quality time with his wife and three daughters on the beaches and waterways of coastal South Carolina. His professional accomplishments have been recognized with several accolades, including being named to Greenville Business Magazine's Best & Brightest 35 and Under in 2018, and consistently earning recognition in Greenville Business Magazine’s “Legal Elite” awards from 2016 to 2020 for Personal Injury. He was also distinguished as a SuperLawyers “Rising Star” from 2016 to 2020 and included in Columbia Business Monthly's “Legal Elite” for 2021. Additionally, Rob holds the Martindale-Hubbell AV Preeminent Rating for 2021.
