Her legal journey began as a prosecutor focusing on domestic violence and child abuse cases, where she witnessed firsthand the severe impacts of abuse within family dynamics.

For more than twenty years, Connie has operated a private practice dedicated to defending the rights of parents, families, and children from governmental interference. Her notable case, Andrews v. Hickman County, is frequently cited in the Sixth Circuit for affirming that the Fourth Amendment applies to social workers. She also pioneered legal representation in Tennessee for children seeking damages from parental abuse. Currently, she is involved in litigation against Williamson County for constitutional violations concerning the treatment of a juvenile in detention.
