Laura W. Baker

Laura W. Baker serves as a shareholder at The Law Offices of John Day, P.C., focusing her practice on personal injury, wrongful death, and tort litigation. Her distinguished career has garnered numerous accolades, including the "Rising Star Award" from the Lawyers' Association for Women in 2016 and a nomination for the Athena Young Professional Award the same year. In 2015, she was honored as a "40 Under 40" award recipient by the Nashville Business Journal. Laura has repeatedly been recognized as one of the "Best of the Bar" by the Nashville Business Journal in both 2015 and 2017. Additionally, she was named among the Top 50 Women Lawyers in the Mid-South by Super Lawyers in 2015 and has been a Mid-South Super Lawyer in Personal Injury from 2013 to 2017. Her early promise was noted when she was named a Mid-South Super Lawyers Rising Star in 2012. An active leader in the legal community, Laura currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Nashville Bar Association and chairs the Friday Fundamentals program, a 13-week initiative designed to help new lawyers transition from law school to practice. She has held leadership roles as President and Treasurer of the Lawyers’ Association for Women, Marion Griffin Chapter. Laura is also a Barrister of the Harry Phillips American Inn of Court, where she serves on the Executive Committee. Her professional affiliations include membership in the Nashville, Tennessee, and American Bar Associations, and she was inducted as a Fellow of the Nashville Bar Foundation in 2015.
