Benjamin Logan McGowan

Benjamin Logan McGowan, a native of New York City, has established a prominent career in criminal defense law. He first moved to southeast Tennessee to attend the University of the South, where he distinguished himself as a University Proctor, fraternity president, and student Chief of the University fire department. After earning his degree in 1994, he spent some time abroad before returning to the United States. In 1998, he pursued his legal education at Northeastern University in Boston.

Following his graduation, Ben served as a Law Clerk to the Massachusetts Justices of the Superior Court. In 2002, he became a trial attorney with the Committee for Public Counsel Services, focusing exclusively on defending serious felony charges with minimum sentences of at least 10 years. His commitment to criminal defense continued upon his return to the Chattanooga area in 2006, where he dedicated his practice to representing individuals accused of crimes in both state and federal courts.

In 2012, Ben joined the firm then known as Summers & Wyatt, PC, after six years of successful private practice and an Of Counsel role at Cavett & Abbott, PLLC. His extensive experience and dedication make him a formidable advocate for his clients.
