Martin L. Pierce

Martin L. Pierce hails from Memphis, Tennessee, and completed his undergraduate studies summa cum laude at Tennessee Technological University in 1978, earning the Outstanding Young Alumnus Award in 1988. He pursued his law degree with high honors from the University of Memphis in 1981, contributing to the University of Memphis Law Review.

Martin is licensed to practice in Tennessee and Georgia, as well as before the U.S. Tax Court and the U.S. Supreme Court. His practice focuses on Estate Planning, Wills, Trusts, Elder Law, Probate, Special Needs Trusts, Conservatorships, Guardianships, Business and Family Succession Planning, Medicaid & VA Planning, and Charitable Planning. He also handles Business Entity Law, dealing with Corporations, LLCs, Partnerships, Nonprofits, and Tax-exempt Organizations, alongside various Tax Law matters.

A Certified Estate Planning Specialist, Martin is recognized by the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils and the Tennessee Supreme Court. His accolades include an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell, recognition as a Mid-South Super Lawyer® in Estate Planning and Elder Law, and inclusion in Best Lawyers in America for Trusts and Estates. He also holds the distinction of AVVO Top-Rated Lawyer.

Martin is an Accredited Attorney with the Department of Veterans Affairs and a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys. His professional affiliations include the Chattanooga Estate Planning Council, where he served as Past President (2006-07), and the Chattanooga Tax Practitioners, where he was President (2007-08). He was also a Charter Member of the Chattanooga Planned Giving.
