Ronald C. Small

Ronald C. Small began his journey in Ottawa, Kansas, and pursued higher education at Wichita State University before obtaining his Juris Doctor from Washburn University School of Law. His career spans significant roles, including Lieutenant Colonel in the U.S. Air Force JAG Corps and First Assistant Federal Public Defender, where he led complex litigation and earned the Company Grade Officer of the Year award in 1995. After retiring from military service in 2016, Ronald transitioned to personal injury law at Hughes & Coleman.

Ronald is dedicated to advocating for individuals and families facing challenging circumstances. His extensive courtroom experience, honed through federal trial work and military service, enhances his ability to build compelling cases, negotiate skillfully, and present effectively before juries. In Tennessee, he applies these skills to hold insurance companies and corporations accountable for negligence.

Ronald is a life member of the Napier Looby Bar Association and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.. He served as chairman of 100 Black Men of Middle Tennessee from 2021 to 2023 and has been honored on the Ottawa High School Wall of Honor since 2016.
