David Owen Day

David Owen Day is a distinguished civil trial attorney with a career spanning more than three decades. Certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy as a civil trial specialist, Mr. Day also holds certifications from the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys in legal malpractice and from the National Board of Legal Specialty Certification in Civil Pretrial Practice Advocacy.

Mr. Day's academic achievements include graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts from East Tennessee State University in 1980, completing his degree in an impressive 15 months. During his time there, he was a member of Phi Kappa Phi and Alpha Lambda Delta. Concurrently, he was enrolled as a special student in Chinese at the University of Tennessee, earning all credits by examination.

In 1984, Mr. Day graduated in the top 10% of his class from the University of Tennessee College of Law, earning his Doctor of Jurisprudence with high honors. His law school accolades included being named a Frederick Bonham Scholar, Harold C. Warner Scholar, and Carl W. Miller Scholar. He was recognized in Who's Who Among American Law Students and participated in the ABA Law Student Division, while also serving as an assistant editor for the Tennessee Law Review.

Mr. Day's practice focuses on general civil matters, emphasizing personal injury, attorney malpractice, creditor bankruptcy representation, commercial, real estate, contract, and business litigation.

Licensed since 1984, Mr. Day is authorized to practice in all Tennessee state courts, including the Tennessee Supreme Court and the Court of Appeals. Federally, he is admitted to the United States Supreme Court, the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the U.S. District Courts for the Middle and Eastern Districts of Tennessee.
