Donna Simpson

Donna Simpson brings decades of legal expertise to her private practice in Cookeville, Tennessee, where she has served clients since 1982. Her career began with Rural Legal Services of Tennessee from 1979 to 1981, providing valuable legal assistance to the community.

Her admissions include the Supreme Court of Tennessee (1979), the United States District Courts for both the Eastern and Middle Districts of Tennessee (1981), the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit (1985), and the Supreme Court of the United States (October 11, 2017).

Donna Simpson earned her J.D. from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville in 1978, following her B.A. in Psychology from the same institution in 1973. Her leadership roles include serving as Past Chair of the Social Security Section of the Tennessee Bar Association (2016-2017) and Chair-Elect of the Disability Section of the American Association for Justice (2018-2019). She also held the position of Past President of the Putnam County Bar Association and was a member of the Board of Professional Responsibility for the Supreme Court of Tennessee from 1992 to 1998.

Her contributions to the legal field have been recognized with fellowships in both the Tennessee Bar Foundation and the American Bar Foundation.
