Laura M. Owings

Laura M. Owings has been a dedicated advocate for her clients since joining the law firm of Nahon, Saharovich & Trotz in October 2007. Initially focusing on automobile accident cases, she now passionately represents clients in nursing home litigation, addressing issues of neglect and abuse. Her commitment to justice is driven by a desire to protect society's most vulnerable, especially as claims are expected to rise with an aging population.

Laura's journey into law began after she moved to Memphis at the age of seven. She graduated from Evangelical Christian School in 1998 before attending Baylor University in Waco, Texas, on a Provost Scholarship. There, she earned her degree in history. Encouraged by her mother, Laura pursued her legal education at the University of Memphis, Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, where she excelled academically.

During law school, Laura was a recipient of the Dean’s Distinguished Service Award in 2006 and the William B. Leffler Scholarship in 2003 and 2004. She served as a Notes and Comments Editor for the University of Memphis Law Review and graduated magna cum laude, ranking sixth in her class. Her academic achievements reflect her dedication and work ethic, qualities she continues to bring to her legal practice.
