Timothy M. McLaughlin began his journey in North Dakota and earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Minnesota. In 1989, he relocated to Knoxville, Tennessee, and completed his law degree at the University of Tennessee Law School in 1992. Immediately following his graduation, he joined the Knox County Public Defender's Office, where he honed his trial skills.

Mr. McLaughlin then transitioned to the Law Offices of Peter G. Angelos, a prominent plaintiff's firm, serving at their Knoxville branch. In 2003, he partnered with Mike Nassios to establish the law firm of Nassios & McLaughlin.
