About Aida A. Montanaro
Aida A. Montanaro was born in Matamoros, Mexico, and moved to the United States at the age of four. She excelled academically, graduating in the top 5% of her class from Porter High School in 2006. Aida then attended the University of Texas at Austin, where she completed her Bachelor's in Communication Studies-Political Communications in just three years.
In 2009, Aida began her legal education at St. Mary's University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas. During this time, she also earned a Master's Degree in International Relations-Security Policy and National Security Issues. Aida gained valuable experience as a research fellow at the Center for Terrorism Law and as a teaching assistant with the Civil Justice Clinic. Her internships included positions with U.S. District Judge Hilda G. Tagle and the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Southern District of Texas.
At St. Mary's, Aida was recognized with several awards, including the Pro Bono Service Award, Dean’s Scholarship, Blask Fellowship, and the Henry B. Gonzalez Outstanding Achievement Award. She began her legal career at the Cameron County District Attorney's Office, where she eventually led the Domestic Violence Unit. Her passion for advocacy led her to serve on the Executive Board of Directors for Friendship of Women and the Board of Directors for the Cameron County Child Advocacy Center-Maggie and Monica’s House.
In 2014, Aida transitioned to civil law, joining a local firm to focus on medical malpractice litigation. After two years, she established her own practice, the Montanaro-Flores Law Firm, in Brownsville, Texas.
