Caitlin Thorpe

Caitlin Thorpe, based in Conroe, Texas, is a distinguished Family Law attorney, Board Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. This certification is an achievement attained by merely 1% of family lawyers in the state. Caitlin has been a pivotal member of Skillern Firm Divorce & Child Custody Lawyers for over ten years. She initially joined the firm in May 2013 as their first law clerk when the firm comprised only two attorneys. Under the mentorship of Mr. Skillern, Caitlin honed her skills and has since become a formidable force in her field. While she occasionally collaborates with Mr. Skillern, Caitlin independently manages her docket, expertly handling a wide range of family law matters.

Caitlin's legal education at the South Texas College of Law was heavily focused on family law. Her coursework included family law, marital property, wills, trusts, and estates, as well as mock trials and family trial advocacy. She had the unique opportunity to learn from a sitting family court judge, gaining practical insights into managing family law cases comprehensively. Caitlin earned the highest grade in her family law course and was awarded the CALI Excellence for the Future Award for her seminar paper in her Sexual Orientation and the Law class. Additionally, she was a recipient of the Dean’s Merritt Scholarship in 2011, 2012, and 2013.

Caitlin also represented the South Texas College of Law at a national level as a varsity advocate in mock trial and moot court competitions, showcasing her skills as both a writer and speaker.
