Andrea R. Simmons

Andrea R. Simmons, a native of Denton, Texas, has built a distinguished career in appellate law. She began her academic journey at North Central Texas College, earning an Associate's Degree in Criminal Justice. In 2002, she graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Government - Public Service from Texas Woman's University. Andrea furthered her education with a J.D. from the University of Arkansas School of Law in 2005 and was subsequently licensed to practice law in the State of Texas.

Andrea's career in public service commenced at the Denton County District Attorney’s Office, where she served as an Assistant District Attorney from 2006 to 2022. Her primary focus was on appellate law, handling a range of cases including juvenile, adult misdemeanor, adult felony, and parental termination cases. Andrea held the position of Chief of the Appellate Division for approximately three years, where she also supported trial teams with legal research and pre-trial guidance.

Currently, Andrea is dedicated to defending the appellate rights of individuals convicted of crimes, continuing her commitment to serving the citizens of Texas in a new capacity.
