Steven Jumes

Steven Jumes has been recognized for his expertise in Criminal Law by the State of Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 2003. His career began in prosecution, where he served as a supervisor in the Grand Jury Division of the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office. There, he focused on prosecuting cases of sexual and physical child abuse. During his tenure at the Dallas County District Attorney's Office, he specialized in Public Integrity prosecutions.

While working with the United States Attorney's Office in the Northern District of Texas, Steven handled complex white-collar crime cases, including tax refund fraud, wire fraud, money laundering, bank robbery, and mail fraud. He also gained significant experience in both criminal and civil asset forfeiture.

Since transitioning to private practice in 2013, Steven has dedicated his efforts to defending clients in criminal and asset forfeiture cases. His defense work encompasses a wide range of charges, such as DWI, murder, healthcare fraud, theft, drug-related conspiracies, and continuous assault of a child.

Steven is a sought-after speaker, having presented for the Texas State Bar, the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyers' Association, and the Tarrant County Criminal Defense Lawyers' Association. His insights on asset forfeiture have been featured in various media outlets, including the Fort Worth Star Telegram, Dallas Morning News, WFAA-ABC news, KXTX-NBC news, KERA, and McCuistion TV. He has also provided testimony before Texas State House and Senate subcommittees on this subject.
