Ruby Lichte Powers

Ruby L. Powers is the founder of Powers Law Group, P.C., a Houston-based firm dedicated to immigration law. Her expertise encompasses waivers of inadmissibility, asylum, deportation, and both family- and employment-based petitions. Powers has achieved Board Certification in Immigration and Nationality Law from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.

Powers earned her degrees from the University of Texas and the University of North Carolina School of Law. Her international experience is extensive, having lived and studied in Mexico, Spain, Belgium, Turkey, and the UAE, and she is fluent in Spanish and French.

In her professional roles, Powers serves as the AILA Texas Chapter Advocacy Chair and is involved with the AILA Media Advocacy Committee and the HBA Law Practice Management Section as Chair. She frequently speaks and writes on topics related to immigration law and law practice management.

Remarkably, in 2011-2012, Powers managed her law firm remotely from Dubai and Turkey for 14 months. She is also a 2015 graduate of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses program and completed Leadership Houston Class 36 in 2018.
