Shelley Hennessee, originally from Nashville, Tennessee, grew up in the Austin area. She earned dual degrees from the University of Texas at Austin, graduating with honors in December 1999 with a Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing and a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish. In May 2006, she completed her law degree at Texas Wesleyan University School of Law in Fort Worth, Texas, where she served as Articles Editor for The Texas Wesleyan Law Review.
Upon graduation, Ms. Hennessee began her legal career at a full-service immigration firm in Dallas, Texas. Her practice has since concentrated on family-based immigration and deportation defense. She possesses extensive expertise in consular processing, adjustment of status, citizenship and naturalization, and various waivers, including those related to fraud, crime, health, and prior deportation. Her experience also encompasses self-petitions under the Violence Against Women Act, U visas for crime victims, humanitarian parole, NACARA, custody redetermination hearings, de novo TPS claims, and cancellation of removal.
