Brandon Wilson Barnett

Brandon Wilson Barnett is a highly regarded attorney practicing in criminal defense, family law, and military law in Lubbock, Texas. He earned his law degree from Texas Tech University School of Law and further advanced his legal education with a Masters of Law (LL.M.) in Litigation from George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C.

Mr. Barnett began his legal career in the United States Marine Corps, serving as a Judge Advocate at various duty stations across the country. In 2008, he was deployed with the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom, where he provided legal counsel on the Rule of Law and the Law of Armed Conflict during combat operations.

Upon returning to Texas in 2012, Mr. Barnett founded Barnett Howard & Williams PLLC, a leading law firm in Fort Worth, Texas. His practice at BHW encompassed criminal defense, military law, juvenile defense, and special education law. In May 2025, Brandon transitioned to Lubbock to join Payne, Powell, Truitt and Chandler as a partner.

Throughout his career, Mr. Barnett has been consistently recognized as a "Texas Super Lawyer" by Texas Monthly and named a Top Attorney by Fort Worth Magazine. He remains active as a Reserve U.S. Marine Judge Advocate, a former military judge, and an adjunct law professor.
