Miguel 'Mike' Lopez Jr.

Miguel 'Mike' Lopez Jr. launched his legal career at the Hidalgo County District Attorney’s office, where he represented the State of Texas in prosecuting misdemeanor and felony cases. His experience there honed his skills in trial preparation and courtroom litigation across various criminal matters.

Mike transitioned to Aaron Pena & Associates, a prominent employment law firm in the Rio Grande Valley, where he delved into employment litigation. At this firm, he managed cases from inception to trial, focusing on defending employees' rights against corporate violations.

Subsequently, he joined The Godinez Law Firm in McAllen, broadening his expertise to encompass a wide range of civil law issues. During his tenure, Mike handled his first family law and personal injury trials, further diversifying his legal practice.

In 2005, Mike established his own law firm, where he has since been involved in both civil and criminal law cases. His practice includes representing Texas peace officers and other public and private employees in various legal matters such as administrative hearings, lawsuits, and critical incidents.

Mike's extensive experience also covers appearances before school boards, TEA, TWC, EEOC, Texas BON, and the Texas Department of State and Health Services, as well as state and federal courts. He is well-versed in administrative law, licensing, open government law, and defending professionals before licensing and regulatory boards.
