Michael Houtz began his academic journey at BYU, earning a B.A. in European Studies in 1984. He furthered his education with a master's degree in French Studies from New York University before returning to BYU to obtain his J.D. in 1989. Following law school, he gained valuable experience clerking for the Arizona Court of Appeals.
