Greg Lyle

Greg Lyle, a founding attorney of Independence Law Firm, brings a compassionate and educational approach to estate planning in Draper, Utah. He believes in crafting customized plans that evolve with families as they grow and change. Greg's personal experience, after the loss of his mother to cancer in 2019, deepened his commitment to helping families plan with clarity and intention, ensuring peace of mind and reducing potential conflicts.

Greg earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law in 2010. During his studies, he externed with the Honorable Judge Denise Lindberg at the Third District Court in Salt Lake City and interned with Utah Legal Services' real estate division. He is licensed to practice in Utah and is an active member of the Utah State Bar Estate Planning Section, having served on the board of the Elder Law Section.

Before establishing Independence Law Firm in 2017, Greg gained experience as an associate attorney with firms across Salt Lake, Summit, and Utah counties, focusing on estate planning, probate, business planning, and contract drafting. He frequently speaks at professional trainings and community workshops and has been featured on podcasts discussing estate and proactive legal planning. Greg is fluent in Spanish.

Originally from Portland, Oregon, and raised in Walnut Creek, California, and Park City, Utah, Greg graduated cum laude from Brigham Young University with a degree in Communications. Outside of his professional life, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Courtney, and their four children, engaging in sports, church service, and community activities.
