Lance E. Bastian

Lance E. Bastian is an accomplished litigator with a focus on criminal defense, personal injury, transportation, and healthcare law. He has successfully conducted over thirty jury trials, handling cases that range from aggravated murder and rape to sex crimes against children, aggravated assault, DUI, and various property and drug offenses. His dedication to serving his clients' best interests is evident in his diligent work.

Mr. Bastian graduated cum laude from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at BYU, where he was Chair of the Trial Advocacy Team. He began his legal career clerking for the Honorable Fred D. Howard in the Fourth Judicial District Court.

After his clerkship, Mr. Bastian spent eight years as a Deputy Utah County Attorney, prosecuting criminal cases. He served as a liaison to Utah County’s Major Crimes and Sex Crimes Task Forces and focused his last three years on sexual assault and domestic violence cases, eventually supervising the Special Victims’ Unit.

He is a member of the A. Sherman Christensen Inn of Courts and has been recognized as a statewide trainer for prosecutors by the Utah Prosecution Council. Mr. Bastian is respected in Utah’s legal community and is also known as the best dad in the world by his four children and two dogs.
