About Mark Moffat
Mark Moffat, a founding member of Brown, Bradshaw & Moffat, has a distinguished career in criminal defense. He graduated with his Juris Doctorate from the University of Utah S.J. Quinney College of Law in 1987. From 1988 to 1997, Mark honed his trial skills at the Salt Lake Legal Defenders Office, representing clients in cases ranging from misdemeanors to capital offenses. In 1995, he was appointed to lead the Serious Youth Offender Division.
In 1998, Mark co-founded his current firm, where he focuses on defending clients in misdemeanors, felonies, white collar crimes, and professional licensing issues, as well as juvenile justice cases. His expertise is recognized by an "AV" rating from Martindale-Hubbell and his inclusion in Utah Business Magazine's "Legal Elite" and The Best Lawyers in America.
Mark is admitted to practice before all Utah state and federal courts, the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. He serves on the Utah Sentencing Commission and the Utah Grand Jury Reform Committee, and he has chaired the Criminal Law Section of the Utah State Bar. Additionally, he has contributed to the Utah State Bar's Governmental Relations Committee and was part of the Rule 8 Capital Qualified Defense Attorneys Panel.
Mark has held numerous roles with the Utah Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, including President, President-Elect, Secretary, and Chairman of the Legislative Oversight Committee. He is also an active member of the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.
