Daphne Moritz

Daphne Moritz has been with Sheehey Furlong and Behm since 2016, where she offers comprehensive legal services in estate planning and administration. Her practice emphasizes asset protection planning, addressing elder concerns, and assisting families with members who have special needs. Daphne collaborates with entrepreneurs to establish their companies and supports small business owners and farmers in succession planning. Her commitment is to help clients safeguard their assets, address healthcare needs, maintain independence, and minimize taxes, ensuring personalized estate plans that reflect both financial and intangible wealth.

Daphne is licensed to practice in Vermont and New Hampshire state and federal courts. She is a current member and past president of the Vermont Chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA). She has served as Executive Editor of NAELA News, a national publication, and authored the chapter “Ethical Considerations in Handling an Estate Plan and Engagement” in A Practical Guide to Estate Planning in Vermont. Additionally, she is the interim president of the New Hampshire/Vermont Council of Charitable Gift Planners and has previously served on the board of the Thompson Senior Center in Woodstock, Vermont, and chaired the Hanover [NH] Area Chamber of Commerce.

Daphne frequently engages in speaking engagements and conducts CLEs for lawyers and the public on various topics, including legal ethics for estate planners, farm succession planning, IRAs, and estate and Medicaid planning.
