His prior roles include serving as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary for the Home Service Store (HSS), where he provided commercial litigation, administration, construction, contract, and employment law services.

Earlier in his career, Hans was Senior Corporate Counsel for Central Vermont Public Service Corporation, Vermont’s largest utility. He holds degrees from the University of Vermont (1980) and Vermont Law School (1991), where he earned both a J.D. and a Masters in Environmental Law.
