Ann graduated from Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia, with a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice in 2000. She earned her Juris Doctorate from Widener School of Law in Harrisburg, PA, in 2004. During her studies, she interned with the Prince William County Attorney’s Office and The Air Force Judge Advocate General (JAG) in Warner Robins, GA.
On February 1, 2020, Ann founded her own firm, The Law Office of Ann Thayer, PLLC. She is an active member of the Virginia State Bar, including its Criminal Law Section, and participates in the Fairfax County Bar Association and its Criminal Section. Her professional affiliations extend to the Virginia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the National College of DUI Defense. As a founding member of DUIDLA, she is committed to advancing DUI defense practices.
Ann serves as co-chair of the Fairfax JDR Court Committee and is involved with the Fairfax GDC and Circuit Court Committees. She also contributes to the Circuit Court Technology Subcommittee and Access to Justice Committee.
