David R. Martin

David R. Martin brings extensive experience to his legal practice, having served as both a defense attorney and a prosecutor over nearly two decades. His career began during his third year at the West Virginia College of Law, where he was granted temporary admission to the West Virginia Bar. This allowed him to practice in the legal clinic, where he dedicated himself to assisting clients unable to afford legal representation, handling cases such as consumer disputes and landlord/tenant issues.

After earning his degree in 2002, Martin continued his commitment to the community by joining Blue Ridge Legal Services as a staff attorney. In this role, he provided essential legal aid to low-income residents of the Shenandoah Valley.

In 2005, Martin transitioned to the Commonwealth Attorney's Office for Harrisonburg/Rockingham. There, he prosecuted violent crimes, sharpening his negotiation skills and deepening his understanding of prosecution processes. His work fostered lasting relationships with local prosecutors and law enforcement.

More recently, Martin became a founding partner of Big Valley Law, previously known as Martin, Miner, and Hahn, PLLC. For over a decade, he has diligently represented clients in criminal law and bankruptcy matters, demonstrating his unwavering dedication to his clients' needs.
