Robert D. Moreton

Robert D. Moreton serves as a Partner at WhitbeckBennett, where he focuses on family law and bankruptcy. His extensive experience in these areas enables him to navigate the complexities of divorce and bankruptcy proceedings effectively.

Before joining WhitbeckBennett, Robert co-founded a law firm in 2012, where he honed his litigation skills by representing clients across Northern Virginia. With over a decade of practice, he has developed a deep understanding of the intricate relationship between divorce and bankruptcy, gaining unique expertise in both bankruptcy and state court proceedings.

Robert's early life involved moving frequently until his family settled in the D.C. area, where he completed high school. As a "black sheep" in a family of engineers, he initially pursued collegiate studies as an NCAA Div. III lacrosse player at Stevens Institute of Technology. He later transferred to North Carolina State University, obtaining his B.S. in 2007. He earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Nova Southeastern University in 2010, before returning to the D.C. area.

Robert is committed to providing personalized legal representation. He believes that each client deserves an attorney who dedicates time and effort to understanding their unique circumstances, rather than applying a "one size fits all" approach.

Outside of his professional life, Robert enjoys spending time in his woodshop and playing golf as a way to relax.
