Barbara Queen

Barbara Queen, a Partner at LawrenceQueen, has dedicated over 16 years to practicing employment law. Known for her compassionate yet assertive approach, she meticulously prepares each case, ensuring personalized attention to navigate clients through complex legal challenges.

Barbara's academic journey began at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, where she earned her bachelor's degree, followed by graduating cum laude from Syracuse University College of Law. Early in her career, she gained valuable experience through internships with the New York Attorney General’s Office and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Northern District of New York.

Since joining Lisa Lawrence in 2002, Barbara has represented clients in diverse forums, including the Department of Health Professionals, Merit Systems Protection Board, U.S. District Court, Commonwealth of Virginia Court, EEOC Administrative Hearings, and the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Barbara's legal expertise has been widely recognized, earning her numerous accolades. In 2021, she was named Pro Bono Attorney of the Year by Cancer LINC for her dedication to supporting individuals affected by cancer. Additionally, she was acknowledged by Virginia Lawyers Weekly for securing a $3.7 million verdict in 2016, the fourth largest in Virginia that year.
