Joshua Voelkel

Joshua Voelkel, a committed attorney based in Midlothian, Virginia, began his legal journey after graduating from the University of Richmond in May 2019. He joined GMA in late August that year, bringing with him a rich heritage of legal expertise from his family. As a recent graduate, he leveraged his third-year practice certification to settle multiple cases while still in school.

Joshua's passion for helping others led him to join the pre-litigation group, where he engages with clients daily, assisting them in receiving necessary treatments post-accident. His upbringing as a military brat, born in Fairbanks, Alaska, and moving across five states, equipped him with remarkable adaptability.

Before law school, Joshua earned a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in Philosophy and Religion from Christopher Newport University in 2016. He further honed his legal skills during a summer at Vandeventer Black, a large defense firm, offering him a unique perspective on case evaluations. His experience at Powell Law Group, focusing on injury and worker’s compensation cases, provided a contrasting viewpoint.

Working at a small plaintiff firm, Joshua learned the critical importance of attorney-client communication. He emphasizes listening intently to clients, understanding that crucial case details can be missed if attorneys focus more on advising rather than hearing clients' stories. He values the profound impact that maintaining strong client contact has on reducing the trauma of their experiences.
