Tara Brown

Tara Brown, originally from northern New Jersey, pursued her education while working full-time, earning her law degree from Rutgers School of Law where she received an academic award. During her time at Rutgers, she contributed as a facilitator for study groups, served as a teaching assistant, and was an Editor of the Women’s Rights Law Reporter.

With a commitment to safeguarding her clients' interests, Tara has been practicing family law and trust and estates for six years. Her extensive 18-year background in negotiation allows her to develop innovative solutions in discussions with opposing parties. Tara's negotiation skills greatly benefit both her clients and the firm.

In the courtroom, Tara is known for her zealous advocacy paired with a balanced approach, focusing on facts and relevant law rather than emotions, which often leads to favorable legal outcomes. She holds bar admissions in Virginia, Colorado, New Jersey, and New York.

Tara actively participates in her community as a board member of the Chester YMCA and the Metro Richmond Women’s Bar Association. Her excellence has been recognized as a Super Lawyer Rising Star for 2023, in Best Lawyers Ones to Watch 2022, and as a Favorite in the Richmond Times Dispatch Best of 2022-2023.

Outside of her professional life, Tara enjoys spending time with her husband, Sahib, their four children aged 32, 31, 19, and 9, and two grandchildren. Her hobbies include running, exploring Virginia, cooking, reading, traveling, and enjoying quality time with family and friends.
