About Michael W. Lee
Michael W. Lee boasts nearly two decades of legal experience, practicing law in both Virginia and Colorado. A 1988 graduate of the Virginia Military Institute, he earned his law degree in 1996 from the University of Richmond, T.C. Williams School of Law and holds an MBA from the College of William & Mary.
Before entering law school, Mr. Lee served as a police officer in Colonial Heights and worked with the Virginia State Corporation Commission. His legal career includes serving as the elected Commonwealth’s Attorney for Colonial Heights, where he also held the position of Interim City Attorney. He was elected to the Board of Directors of the Virginia Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Association by his peers.
Mr. Lee is a past president of the Colonial Heights Bar Association and is a member of both the Hopewell and Petersburg Bar Associations. As an adjunct instructor at the Crater Criminal Justice Academy, he teaches criminal and constitutional law.
Admitted to practice in all Virginia courts, he is also authorized to appear before the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia and the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals.
